On March 26, BYD released its 2024 Sustainability Report, systematically disclosing the company's strategic plans, practical achievements, and long-term commitments in the areas of environment, society, and governance (ESG). The report indicates that BYD, with technological innovation at its core, has achieved remarkable results in green and low-carbon development, social responsibility fulfillment, and corporate governance optimization.

In 2024, BYD elevated ESG work to the strategic level of the group. Not only did it establish a strategic and sustainable development committee at the board level, but it also appointed Vice President Zhao Jianping as the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO). Moreover, ESG performance was incorporated into the salary assessment of executive directors and senior management, accounting for 10%. BYD demonstrated its determination to excel in ESG through concrete actions.

For three decades, BYD has been driving the green development of the new energy vehicle, energy storage, and photovoltaic industries through technological innovation. In 2024, BYD innovatively proposed the sustainable development concept "DREAMS", promoting the sustainable development of humanity and the Earth from six aspects: green and low-carbon, innovation and transformation, equal opportunities, collaborative cooperation, integrity and uprightness, and value sharing.

BYD launched over 410 new energy-saving and emission reduction projects throughout the year, achieving energy-saving benefits equivalent to reducing 210,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. BYD invested approximately 1.41 billion yuan in the disposal of three wastes, ensuring 100% compliance with pollutant discharge standards.

BYD's domestic tax payment reached 51 billion yuan, and the average payment cycle to upstream suppliers was 127 days, which is better than that of mainstream listed domestic automakers. BYD actively fulfills its social responsibilities and has initiated a 3 billion yuan education charity fund, focusing on supporting university scholarships and popularizing new energy vehicle technology. BYD pays attention to employee development, strengthens talent retention, and has internally trained 57,800 skilled talents. The amount of BYD's zero-cost employee shareholding plan exceeded 1.8 billion yuan, covering nearly 12,000 people. In 2024, BYD was awarded the "Best Employer in Asia" and "Most Talent-Friendly Employer" among other honors.
